I'M JUST ABOUT DONE WITH AMERICAN POLITICS

For me President Trump tweeting 'my red button is bigger than yours' in his ongoing war of words with Kim Jong-un is just about the final straw and does call into question his fitness to hold office.    In that context I welcome his intention to check into the Walter Reed Military Hospital for a full medical assessment next week.

And now the news that Oprah Winfrey is considering a tilt at the Presidency in 2020.

Is this what American politics has come down to ... is this the best 'the land of the free' can come up with?   Gueez Wayne ... bit like Colin Craig or Me Tu being appointed Governor-General.

I concur but you must get over your obsession with Me Tu...this is the fourth post you you have mentioned her in passing...... a slight stirring of the loins perhaps.

Egbut ... no stirring (God forbid) I assure you. For me, she and Trump have much in common.

"I'm Just About Done With American Politics"

Just as well really. You've been 100% wrong on the subject for the last 2.5 years.

`For me, she and Trump have much in common.'

Vet - not really because as far as I know Trump is not a common thief.

BTW - I liked his - my red button is bigger than yours and it works! - tweet.

Anon 12.15 ... clearly you are part of the deluded who thinks Trump walks on water. Clearly I don't. Obama was incompetent; Hillary couldn't lie straight in bed but Trump is simply dangerous.

Obama incompetent Hillary a liar Trump dangerous B grade Actor, etc, etc.
Why shouldn't Oprah if she secures enough donors and have a shot.
That's how you become a US President.

David I have deleted your 12.46pm comment.

If you are going to quote me do so fully.

How about attributing the button statement correctly.
Like, you know, who started it all.
Cant get Trump on the Russia claim now they're trying the 'Nuts' avenue

David - I do not have to take that crap from you.

My point proven. Who hurt your butt?

Shame you can't be honest.

Perhaps politics is an unwitting casualty of Neo Liberalism. The head long rush into banking, insurance and industry by the top brains of our universities has resulted in a paucity of talent in the political arena. The British parliament has never had so many mediocrities on it's benches with talent and brains being in short supply.

Trump is the best thing since sliced bread. He has guts and boldness and says what the thinks. He is making America great again and is ripping apart the MSM that has tried to destroy him from the first. Wish NZ had a Trump, instead of complete UN puppets, all of them.

Vet, I'm sorry to hear you have given up on American politics.

I've given up on NZ and Australian politics. The former is puerile and the latter banal.

American politics is vibrant and interesting. You know I'm a fan of President Trump. One of the reasons is I look at what he does rather than what he says.

If you do that, you might see him in a different light. You might notice his speeches tend to be traditional and 'presidential' while his tweets are aimed at Clinton's 'deplorables.' He communicates in different ways to different audiences.

BTW, the 'mine is bigger than yours' jab seems to have resulted in resumption of direct talks between North and South.

LEgbut, instead of trying to lay the blame for everything at the feet of sensible economics, perhaps we should in fact look at what is driving the politics today.

The real issue we have is the era of professional politicians. Those like Taxinda, Clarkula, Michael Wood, et all that have done politics degrees purely because they want full access to the trough. (I haven't included Blenglish although possibly we should?) At least Jamdertin had real world experience, albeit minimal.

Why would anyone with a good career want to throw that away to enter the maelstrom of left driven identity politics and virtue signalling our parliaments have succumbed to.

Too many 'conversations' - huis, and not enough 'do-ies'. It's just like the Clark/Cullen government all over again, just more useless.

Para.......Do you actually know what you have just said?

Legbut, my comment was clearly about the rise of career politicians rather than those who have real world experience before entering the bearpit. BTW the use of the word 'professional' was not in a good way.

Perhaps you would like to enlighten us on what your interpretation is of my comment?
