ON WAITANGI DAY AT WAITANGI

Huge wraps to the Waitangi Trust Board and to the Government for agreeing to edit out the Lower (Te Tii) Marae from the official Waitangi Day celebrations here in Paihia/Waitangi.    Long may it continue.

The day went a treat(y) enjoyed by tens of thousands spoilt only by Kingi Tauroa and his rag tag bunch of disciples who attempted to high-jack the dawn service at the Upper Marae.

Just why St Jacinda and Winston Peters would want to see a return to the mayhem that regularly occurred on the Te Tii Marae fair escapes me.   The going-on there encapsulates perfectly why Ngapuhi has been unable to agree on a mandate as to who can represent the tribe in respect of their Treaty Claim.

Meanwhile New Zealand moves on and past them.

Love the bit where the PM rounded up her ministers and had them working in the kitchen...there is a lot of French in that lady.

Well Egbut - just maybe she found something that some of them are reasonably good at.

pdm.....You were there were you? I prefer to call it multi tasking.

Troll DLT.....pdm's comment was more humourous than the photoshopped rubbish that you litter this blog with.

Egbut ... truth be known 'she' was at it for a whole ten minutes ... just enough for the TV cameras to do their thing (and for her to burn the bacon). Then she wuz orf to Auckland for the reception at Govt House.

But heh, that's politics 101 for you and I blame her not a bit (well, perhaps the burnt bacon bit).

Hell Vet you would think with her fish and chip salting and wrapping experience that she could cook bacon without burning it.

Veteran...were you there? A link would be helpful in order to fact check.

Nope can't find anything.....doesn't matter, five minutes, ten minutes 30 minutes, five days The fact that it was a break with the tradition of elitism was appreciated by all.

Try and and make political capital on this one and you are are on a loser.

Egbut ... twas there. On the positive side 'she' spoke very well. Just pointing out the danger of assuming too much from 'staged' performances.

Look, the honeymoon continues, due in part to a fawning media. Meanwhile the stock market crashes and burns.

And of course, it is btotes Ardern's fault that the US Stock market is a shambles. Clutching at fucking straws, aren't you?

Not a word from you as Trump continues to trash democratic norms in the USA, who accuses Democrats of traitorous behavior because they didn't give him a standing ovation and fellatio, who has encouraged dictators and wannabe dictators around the world with his disgusting attacks on press freedom and the separation of powers. The US is on a holy roll to a single party theocracy and all you care about is fucking burnt bacon!

Burnt bacon is no trivial issue, a pig was sacrificed in vain.

Adolf Fiinkensein said...

More likely it was sacrificed in vein.

High level meetings between PM May and Chancellor Merkel over the crash of the stock markets in UK and Germany. A letter of impeachment is on its way to PM Ardern based on Veterans (Deepthroat) summation. One man's fawning media is another's brilliantly insightful comments. sigh

Is there no stopping this woman......she has agreed to set up a Criminal cases review commission something which all civilised countries should have but for reasons that escape me has been fiercely resisted by previous governments.

Egbut ... yep, what we really need is another body to deal with cases the Court of Appeal is set up to deal with.

More Quangos; more Inquiries; more Commissions of Inquiry; more Royal Commissions; more jobs for the boys. On the positive side it was great to see the Minister of Finance get off his arse (albeit 24 hours late) to assure the stock market that the economy bequeathed to Labour by National is great shape. An improvement on his bumbling performance in the House last week where he admitted to glossing over vital economic data.

Veteran......Wrong, the court of appeal only looks at procedures and does not look at new evidence or usually interrogate witnesses. I thought you knew that?

It is patently not working because NZ kept the boys in the Privy council in parsnips for years.....I did say civilised countries.
